Bears take 2 of 3 from Wenatchee with Shootout Win
In their third game in three days the Brown Bearscame out strong. They pushed the pace, but couldn't get one by former Bear Zach Quinn. Josh Creelman however, was equally as strong stopping seven first period shots. The second period saw more great goaltending in which Creelman had seven more saves. Wenatchee however let in the lone goal of the period on a strike from Jack Gessert (Rudin, Campbell). The third saw the two goalies battling hard and with one minute left in regulation the Bears couldn't hold on. In Overtime the Bears were on their heels. Creelman shook off the late goal and stopped five overtime shots. Wenatchee seemed to have the momentum going into the shootout, but Creelman came up huge again stopping 4 of 5 shooters. Nick Klishko opened the scoring followed by a tying goal from Wenatchee, but Anchorage native Alex Jackstadt sealed the 2 points and the victory for the Bears. Josh Creelman had 25 saves in the win.
The Bears are in Fairbanks this weekend for a two game set vs the Ice Dogs.
