Brown Bears Fall in Pair of Games in Fairbanks

Friday: Kenai River 1 @ Fairbanks 10 – Dave Allison’s debut behind the bench was a successful one as the Ice Dogs erupted for 10 goals in a 10-1 win over the Brown Bears. The Ice Dogs scored four goals in the 1st period and never looked back as Billy Renfrew scored twice and Tyler Stewart and Jake Hale also scored. Hale added his second of the game in the 2nd period along with goals from Marcus Lund and Cameron Ricotta. In the 3rd period, Ricotta and Stewart would both add their second goals of the game and Alexander Malinowski also scored. Ryan Finch had the lone goal for Kenai River. Kayden Hargraves made 30 saves in the win, while Tommy Aitken made 15 saves in the loss.

Saturday: Kenai River 3 @ Fairbanks 5 – Five different players scored for the Ice Dogs as they completed a weekend sweep of the Brown Bears thanks to a 5-2 win on Saturday. Cameron Ricotta opened the scoring for Fairbanks in the 1st period. Kenai River took a 2-1 lead in the 2nd period with goals from Ryan Finch and Max Marquette, but the Ice Dogs stormed back with two goals later in the 2nd period from Camden Shasby and Billy Renfrew to take a 3-2 lead. In the 3rd period, two more Fairbanks goals from Tyler Stewart and Jake Hale secured the win. Kaden Hjelm had the other Brown Bears goal. Tyler Krivtsov made 31 saves in the win, while Cole Wheaton made 31 saves in the loss.
