The Brown Bears opened up their home schedule with the Janesville Jets and did not disappoint the home crowd. Kenai River won two games in the three game series, grabbing four out of a possible six points. The Brown Bears now sit in second place in the NAHL’s Midwest Division after the weekend’s games.
Janesville 2 @ Kenai River 5 – The Kenai River Brown Bears won their home opener over the Janesville Jets 5-2 on Friday night. Zach Krajnik scored two goals to lead the Brown Bears while Max Helgeson, Theo Thrun and Trey LaBarge all lit the lamp for the home squad. Jan Lasak and Jake Dunlap lit the lamp for the Jets.
Janesville 1 @ Kenai River 4 – The Brown Bears won their second consecutive game over the Janesville Jets as they took Saturday night’s contest by a score of 4-1. Porter Schachle led all skaters with a goal and an assist. Brandon Lajoie, Max Helgeson and Preston Weeks all found the back of the net as well. Landon Pavlisin allowed just a single goal to win his second game in as many nights. Jan Lasak scored again for Janesville with the helpers going to Jake Dunlap and Isaac Novak. Cristian Wong-Ramos was dealt the loss in net.
Janesville 6 @ Kenai River 3 – Grant Hindman finished with a goal and three assists as the Janesville Jets avoided a sweep as they beat Kenai River 6-3. Isaac Novak potted a pair of goals while Nick Nardella and Max Klanow each had a goal and an assist. Jack Rhode also scored for the Jets. Grant Riley got the win in net as he made 34 saves. Theo Thrun led the Brown Bears with three points while Nate Thelen and Konner Lundeen also scored for Kenai River. Landon Pavlisin and Danny Fraga teamed up to make 31 saves.
