Kenai River 4 vs. Jamestown 3 (SO) – The Brown Bears picked up their first win of the 2019-20 season as they used a late goal in regulation to tie the game and then picked up the extra point in the shootout to beat the Rebels, 4-3. Jamestown never trailed in the game until the end as they got two goals from Nate Clark and another from Eric Olson. The Brown Bears got goals from Stewart Pond, Logan Ritchie, and the equalizer with just :16 seconds to go in regulation from JJ Boucher. Brandon Lajoie scored the only goal in the shootout to secure the Brown Bears win. Brown Bears goalie Landon Pavlisin made 24 saves in the win, while Jon Howe made 28 saves in the loss. It was also the first NAHL head coaching win for new coach Kevin Murdock.
