Brown Bears start home weekend with win Vs Magicians
It started off far to similar for the Bears, allowing a very early first period goal, but Kenai River responded by scoring the next two goals of the first period. The goals were scored by: Ben Campbell (Gessert, Rudin) and Maurin Bouvet (Gessert). The Magicians answered and the game went tied into the second period. Alec Derks stoof tall in net keeping the game tied at two through the second frame. Derks had 18 saves on 20 shots through two periods. The third period saw the Bears dominate in the shot department as well as the scoreboard. They out shot Minnesota 17 to 3 in the third and had goals from: Austin Chavez (Nickels) and Ben Campbell (2) (Andrews, Jackstadt). Alec Derks finished with 21 saves.
The Bears look to finish off the sweep Saturday at 7:30 PM.
