Brown Bears Win Tight One Vs Minot
The Kenai River Brown Bears opened the weekend with a hard fought win at home against the Minot Minotauros. The first two periods were a battle between goaltenders Josh Creelman (Kenai) and Atte Tolvanen (Minot). Creelman had 24 saves through two periods, while Tolvanen had 21. The third period looked to be the same until Maurin Bouvet scored his 4th of the season off a Minot turnover. Minot responded with a power play goal to send the game into overtime. The extra frame saw more tremendous play from each goaltender, resulting in a shootout. Creelman stopped four of five shots and the Brown Bears put in two goals during the shootout by Chris Usov, and Tanner Schachle resulting in a Brown Bear win.
The Brown Bears look to complete the weekend sweep Saturday night against Minot at 7:30 pm.
