Kenai River Drops Final 2014-15 Series in Fairbanks
In the first game of the final series the Brown Bears came out buzzing and firing pucks on net. Nick Klishko (Schachle, Cook) opened the scoring. Fairbanks however, responded with three more first period goals. Kenai cut the lead to one in the second when Matt Rudin (Kaszupski, Gessert) scored, but it wasn't enough, and Fairbanks went on to win 7-2. Alec Derks made 13 saves in the loss, and Evan Hauser made 24 saves in relief.
Saturday was a much tighter game. The first period saw Fairbanks score first, but about half way through Jack Gessert (Zulkanycz,Bouvet) tied it up. The second period saw the same back and forth where the two teams traded goals. Kenai goals came from Tyler Andrews (Zulkanycz,Bouvet) and Gustav Berglund (Bouvet, Gessert). Fairbanks scored twice in the third, but Kenai never gave up and mid way through the third Colton Fletcher (Kresl, Gessert) cut the lead to one. With a flurry of chances with the goalie pulled Kenai couldn't convert, and lost 5-4.
