Morgan named 1st Star, Porter Schachle named Honorable Mention

Midwest Division Star of the Week: Peter Morgan, forward, Kenai River Brown Bears

It was a big weekend for the 1st place Kenai River Brown Bears and newly acquired forward Peter Morgan. The 19-year-old native of Sarasota, Florida, helped his team to a three-game weekend home sweep of the Springfield Jr. Blues. Morgan (5’6/155), who is also an NAPHL grad, posted six points (2 goals, 4 assists) and was a +5 in the three wins. On Thursday, he collected an assist in a 4-1 win. On Friday, he had two goals and two assists in an 8-4 win. On Saturdya, he had another assist in a 5-2 win. In 11 games this season with Kenai River, Morgan has posted 11 points. “Peter has been very good for us since coming over in a trade. He comes ready to work every day and it’s showing up in the consistency of his play over these past few weeks. We’re really happy that he is finding success,” said Brown Bears head coach Kevin Murdock.
