Happy Thanksgiving Brown Bear Friends and Families! Its Thursday and we’re thankful for Thursdays because they mean our Bears will be sharpening their steel for the next evenings games! It’s going to be a barn burner for sure against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, another two game series counting toward Alaska’s own coveted Raven Cup. Connor and Artur will be in the house representing our Defense and making it tough for the Dog’s. It’s been another week of hard skating and Community Volunteering for Artur,  Connor and the rest of the team, including a Thanksgiving Day morning practice! The rest of us were probably slumped on the coach watching football or the Macy’s Day Parade , so rest assured your Brown Bears are dedicated to winning for their Fans !  Come on out to the Sports Center and cheer Connor on as he dusts it off, and be sure to bang on anything you can for Artur! He’ll be taking pucks in the breadbasket all night long for our team! See you at the Rink!

If you chose your Jersey number why did you choose it? I chose #7 this year because that’s the number I was assigned last year.
Favorite hockey team? Pittsburgh Penguins
Favorite hockey player and why is he your favorite player?  Kris Letang. All around great player, does his job every night, is a leader, and a great guy off the ice
Favorite hockey memory?  Coming behind from losing 3-0 with 4 mins left. We tied it up with a minute left, then I picked off a pass, took the shot and scored with 48 seconds left. That game was the Championship Game in the Silver Stick Championship.
Who was your hero growing up?  Both of my parents were my Heroes growing up. No matter what happened, they were always supporting me. They made so many sacrifices in this life that no matter how many times I thanked them, it still wouldn’t be enough. They truly put me before them and I am forever grateful.
Do you have any pre-game rituals? What are they?  eating at the Duck Inn on every Game day, coming to the rink to warm up, wearing the same clothes to warm up in, getting dressed the same way every time and just get in the mindset.
When did you start playing hockey and why do you keep playing? I started skating when I was 2 and playing since I was 4. I keep playing for the Love of the Game and because it’s the greatest sport there is.
Shoot or Pass?  Depends on the situation (D-Zone: Pass) ( O- Zone : Shoot)
What position do you play and why do you like that position? I play defense. Reason I play D is because that’s where I started at a young age because I always stayed by the Goalies side, so I stuck with it growing up.
What is your dream job?  NHL Hockey Player ( What every Player wants)
If you can’t have your dream job what other job are you interested in? A Marine Biologist. I’ve always had a strong passion for Marine Biology since a young age
Who’s winning the Stanley Cup this year?  Pittsburgh Penguins (Threepeat)
Anything else interesting about you?  I have three cats ( Shadow, Koby, and Peanut) and a dog ( Steeler)
If you had to give one piece of advice to the kids in our community what would you say to them?  Follow your Dreams. Never give up. When times get tough, keep moving forward no matter what.
