Hey Brown Bear Fans! Can you believe it? It’s nearly hockey season and the boys are back in town to prove it! Keep your eyes open and you will see a lot of familiar faces back in the community. #9 Power forward Alex “the Bear” Klekotka is walking around, along with #12 Sniper Filip “Flip” Karlsson! You may also run into #2 Markuss “The breakout kid” Komuls! #17 Sutton “Speedy” McDonald is back and speedier than ever! I know #22 Connor “crush em'” Scahill is lurking about and and # 19 Micheal “The Rifle” Spethman honed his shot to a fine edge allllllll summer long! Be on the lookout for your favorite players! Already the guys are knee deep into volunteering, hanging out at the Industry appreciation Days and The Kenai Elks Club HAVE Alaska Banquet today, and also holding impromptu skates.
Training camp officially begins next week and there are some cuts that will be completed before a final roster is posted for the beginning of this season. The guys will head out on a road trip against Janesville to begin their season, returning for our First Home game scheduled October 5th against the Chippewa Steel at 7:30 PM Soldotna Regional Sports Center! In the meantime Official training camp practices begin on Monday at the KENAI RINK, two slots which will be 845 AM and 145PM to begin, Monday thru Wednesday, and again on Friday. These practices are open to our community so if you have a spare day feel free to come on down and check out how the team is shaping up! Also this week you’ll see some of the guys hanging out on Wednesday at Music in the Park, and on Friday at SOHI’s football game.
One last thing Brown Bear Fans! Put this on your schedule! Before the team heads to Janesville there will be the Brown and Gold Game on September 7th at 630PM, KENAI RINK with a Skate with the Bears when the game wraps up! Lets Go Team 12!
