Kenai River Forwards Cody Moline and Peter Morgan were named Honorable Mention players of the week in the Midwest Division
The North American Hockey League (NAHL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending October 27, 2019. The Divisional Stars of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2019-20 regular season that honors the top performing players in each of the four NAHL divisions. Only players that are nominated by their respective teams are considered for the Divisional Players of the Week award.
Midwest Division Star of the Week: Trent Burnham, goaltender, Chippewa Steel
Chippewa Steel goalie Trent Burnham, 19, helped his club to a weekend road sweep of the Janesville Jets, which helped the Steel extend their winning streak to a league-best eight straight games. The 6’0/163 lbs. native of Eagle River, Alaska, allowed just two goals in the two wins, stopping 50 of 52 shots during the weekend. On Friday, Burnham made 32 saves in a 2-1 overtime win, and then on Saturday he made 18 saves in a 4-1 win. With a 5-1 record this season, Burnham ranks 3rd in the NAHL in goals against average (1.32) and 4th in save percentage (.954). “Trent has been very good for us so far this season. He’s made some big saves when we need him to and kept us steady when the other team makes a push,” said Steel head coach Carter Foguth.
