A California native, Evan gew up playing for all the top programs in SoCal, and now is looking to make the jump to the NAHL. Evan is a smooth skating defenseman, with good poise and sense. We are excited that Nyhus chose to compete for a spot with us.
He played a ton on minutes last year, in all situations for his team. He was also the captain of his team. We like that here in Bear Country. Evan has had great coaching being around the Burcar brothers, and others in the Ducks Organization. The recent success of the Jr. Ducks Club throughout all levels has been a testament to that.
Fun Fact: Coach David was an assistant coach with the Jr. Ducks Organzation in 2006-07 prior to joining the Bears. It was the first year the program had a U18 AAA team. The team won the California State Championship, and the Pacific District Championships before losing in the Quarter Finals at the National Tournament in 2007.
