Banks began his coaching career with the Minot Minotauros. He spent two years with the Minotauros, serving as Director of Scouting and Assistant Coach.
He then took a role with the New Mexico Ice Wolves (NA3HL) as the Head Coach/General Manager. Starting a new program, the Ice Wolves became perennial playoff contender. With solid player advancement and a winning culture. After three seasons with the Ice Wolves, that culminated in an appearance at the Fraser Cup Championship, Banks brings his experience to the Kenai River Brown Bears organization.
