The Kenai River Brown Bears are proud to congratulate former Brown Bear Lucas Wahlin (2020–21) on signing a one-year, entry-level NHL contract with the Winnipeg Jets beginning in the 2026–27 season.
Lucas will report to the Manitoba Moose (AHL) for the remainder of the 2025–26 campaign as he begins his professional journey.
After his time in Kenai River, Wahlin went on to become a standout leader at St. Thomas Tommies, serving as captain for three seasons and finishing his collegiate career with 137 games played, 56 goals, and 75 assists. This past season, he led his team with 21 goals, totaled 39 points, and earned CCHA Defensive Forward of the Year honors along with a spot on the All-CCHA First Team.
During his time with the Kenai River Brown Bears, Lucas made an immediate impact—recording 19 goals and earning Top Prospect recognition in the Midwest Division.
Lucas’ journey is a testament to hard work, leadership, and relentless compete.
