Agrusa Hired to Lead Brown Bears
May 12, 2008
The Kenai River Brown Bears announced today that they have hired Michigan native Brent Agrusa to lead the team into its second season in the North American Hockey League, the oldest Junior A hockey league in the United States. Agrusa is tasked with turning around a team that finished in last place in its inaugural season and managed only twelve wins.
Agrusa was chosen from a pool of over sixty applicants, and comes with a very impressive background and a proven track record in junior hockey. In the late 1990's he took over a Central States Hockey League Metro Jets team that was in last place but would become contenders within one season. In his second season Agrusa led the Jets to a 24-1 record while also scouting for NAHL teams.
